Tasty and preferably with red onion in Smile

Has to be idiot-proof as I'm shall we say, less than goddess-channeling, in the kitchen. Blush

[http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/cuisine/european/english/toad-in-the-hole-with-roasted-onion-gravy.html Here you go]]. No reason why you can't use red onions rather than white - she doesn't actually specify, anyway.

I use the same amount of flour eggs & milk & whisk them all togeather.

Heat your deep dish with oil & pepper in the oven till it's really smoking hot.

whilst the oil is heating up I fry off one red onion & 4 rasher's of bacon (cut into strips.

I then put the onion & bacon into the bottom of the dish - you could wrap the bacon around some sausages if you want to.

Pour over the batter mix & pop in the centre of the oven for 20 odd minutes.

God I am hungry now...

Oh oh oh oh oh

Have just made the Toad in the Hole from Sarah Raven's new book - it is to die for. Much, much better than any other recipes I've ever tried. It has red onion and sage cooked in with the batter and the onion gravy uses a tin of beef consomme and red wine.

Not a scrap left.
