I have to leave now to get the kids from school and will be back about 3.35pm. I have a shoulder of lamb in the oven which is due to be ready at 3.30pm. Do I turn the oven right down and then whack it back up and cook for half an hour when I get in or leave it as it is and hope I am not too late back and it doesn't burn.

I'd turn it off and let it rest.

Love lamb, yum - set a extra placeSmile

I turned it right down to 100 and now don't know how long to cook it for back up at the original temp of 160??

Suggest taking it over the time by 15mins and then checking it nearest the bone in 10-15min intervals. I always do my lamb longer than it suggests anyway as don't like it pink.

I ended up doing about 25 minutes more as I forgot about it as the oven was still on for the crumble I had made. The juices are running clear, the meat looks brown and tastes yummy. Thanks for your help.:)
