I have 2.5kg of plums from our tree. Any recipes greatly appreciated!
Should I make jam?
Can I freeze them?
Any interesting pastries?
All I can think of is
a. make a few crumbles
b. eat them - quickly before they go bad!

Oooh I'll keep an eye on this thread as our Plums are just about ready to pick.

you can stew and freeze them in bags to make crumbles all winter.

or if you have enough dishes you can make the crumbles and freeze them made (I always want the dish in the freezer for soemthing else though!)

jam is lovely too, but I'd go for freezer, personally

i only kept half of the total crop - the other half had either damaged too badly when falling or were half eaten! I wish I had started picking them earlier as maybe I could have saved more. Are you in Barnsley? We live in Norfolk so I imagine ours probably would have ripened a little earlier so I would look out for yours starting to fall any day!

right, stewing. How long do you think they need? Do I need to add any kind of preservative (like sugar?)

i'd add sugar and give them around mins

stop when they look ready (that's not very helpful, is it?!)
