We have a pack of sausages in the fridge that need to be eaten today - any interesting ideas for sausages other than sausage and mash?

  1. Sausage casserole.
  2. Toad in the hole.
  3. Cut them into chunks, cook them, then mix into a pasta sauce.
  4. Cook then serve with baked potato and beans.
  5. Cowboy stew (sausages with mixed pulses)

There was a lovely sausage casserole up as recipe of the week a short time ago. It had pesto and oregano in it. Was lovely. Here's the link

Cut into chunks, fry (I use a saucepan). Take sausages out, then fry in same pan (on very low heat) onions, potatoes, carrots and/or swede cut to similar sized chunks. Could add bayleaf. After say 20 min put sausages back in to reheat and add a little gravy powder pre-mixed with a little water.

Delicious! Well it is with my veggie sossies, anyway :)

Can also make similar with a tin of tomatoes added instead of gravy.

sausage risotto - fry up onion and sausages; add tin tomatoes and rice, keep adding a bit of stock until rice cooked. Optionally add mushrooms/peas/anything else you've got which goes!

...or take off skins and crumble into a pan and fry off with some onions, then add a garlicky tomatoey pasta sauce, fresh herbs etc
