kids party - food for adults question

we're having a family/friends get together on Sunday for dd who will be 4. It starts at 2.30 until 4.30pm. I will obviously do a "tea" and cake style thing for the kids, but I am stuck for what to do for the mums & Dads, grandmas and grandads etc...
In the past I have gone full blown out and provided bread, quiches, pizzas, cheeses etc... but I don't really fancy all the fuss and clearing up - will it be acceptable to just provide snacks, crisps, dips stuff do you think?
after all, by 2.30 most will have had lunch and 4.30 isn't really adult tea or dinner time. I just don't want hungry parents tucking into the kids sandwiches!!!!

At DS4 birthday party we did chips and dips for the addlers, and then they picked at the the kids leftovers.

Oh and wine and beer

For the adults obviously.

I would offer crisps and dips and alcohol. Or tea, cake and biscuits might be easier (and cheaper!)

At my dd's party I cooked two pizzas earlier in the day and cut slices (mainly for the kids, I thought) It was the only thing that I made that was gone completely at the end, so in future I'd do less of the saussages on sticks, etc, and just do that!

Nice sandwiches always go down a treat with every age(who has got time to cut toothsome little slivers of cheese when there are rampaging kids on the loose?)
How about smoked salmon and roast beef with rocket and horseradish,or really good ham?
I guarantee they'll disappear!

do a few extra sandwiches, but dips etc fine!
