I am in my thrifty and inventive phase.

For our dinner - pastry bottomed pie filled with left over roast chicken, fried off mushrooms and onions, peas, topped with mash and cooked through in the oven? Or will it be awful and I should make a quiche instead?

Can I come for tea please? :)

i'm not sure about it, but theres only one way to find out!! let us know how it turns out!

i like to make chicken pie with leftover chicken, mushrooms, fried onions and sauce made from butter, flour, chicken stock and oregano.

Slight change of plan as no peas or cream so I have chicken, mushroom and onion pie topped with grated cheese and then mash on top. Will do veg when dh comes home and chooses which ones he wants.

comtessa - you are very welcome :)

RonansMummy - why don't you think it will work?

Do you really need the pastry on the bottom?

I would have thought that it would be fine without and just the mash with or without the cheese on top. Sounds lovely.

It is done now.
