Rock hard kidney beans. What do I do?

I've just made a chilli and the kidney beans are rock hard. It always seems to happen to me. They are out of a tin that says they don't need pre cooking.

What can I do to stop them being hard and inedible?

Thanks

This happened to me several times and now I always pay abit more and get Napolina branded ones. twice the price (79p) but at least you get a nice meal so well worth the extra.

My local shop only sells their own brand ones but will try to get some more expensive ones

I found that tesco value ones were the softest ones

If you have a load of those cans in and still want to use them, I'd suggest soaking them in water for a couple of hours before putting them in the recipe... rather annoying but at least they'll be edible.
Save from that, buy another brand, or soak and cook a bag of them and freeze to use straight from the freezer whenever you like Smile
