Since cracking breakfast with dd, I thought it was about time I started eating a proper breakfast, especially now I can see how much more energy dd has in the morning. I bought her a variety pack so I could find a cereal she likes, and this morning we had rice crispie multi grains and O MY GOD! I have never had such tasty cereal! I had to try five different supermarkets today before I found a big box, but it was worth it! There is no point whatsoever to this post except to say YUM YUM!

I used to hate rice crispies with a passion. Disgusting and bland. But my word! It's wierd because cereal used to be such a no no for me. And I'm even having it with full fat milk since I have so bloody much of it! And I even got a free light sabre inside :0

PMSL! I remember so clearly your first thread on here - I'm SO pleased for you and DD (and a bit of your lightsabre, if I'm honest )

littlelamb · 29/08/2005 20:34

It's mine you can't have it! I can't believe the difference a few months has made either. I can't believe that was my life, it makes me very sad to think about now. The progress has been good though. Bought a new skirt today, in a style I have already, but two sizes bigger, as that was from my really bad days, and I didn't even flinch! The old me would have been horrified. I think it has a lot to do with wonderful things happening with my boyfriend who loves me just the way I am . O I am so soppy! And he's not going to get the light sabre either!

Am over the moon for you, I truly am!

(Can I have a go with the lightsabre if I promise to give it back? Go on, go on, go on... ).

littlelamb · 29/08/2005 20:40

[runs away quietly, lightsabre in hand ..............]Its mine its mine its mine!

Gah...

moondog · 29/08/2005 22:20

Rice Crispie Multi Grains????
Pah!!
You haven't lived until you've got a big warm bowl of porridge down yer neck (even without a light sabre!)

nannyjo · 29/08/2005 22:23

it's got to be cinnamon grahams for me, don't want DS eating unhealthy cereals like that so not sure how we'll cross that bridge when we get there

Aero · 29/08/2005 22:26

LL - I have to say this thread has truly made me !

Moondog - sorry, but mingin'! Can't imagine anything worse to put down my neck first thing in the morning. Will have to try the multi-grain things! (not just for the light-sabre - honest!)

expatinscotland · 29/08/2005 22:28

LOVE porridge! Can eat it daily for brekkie. GREAT for ya and keeps you going for hours. Mmmmm.

moondog · 29/08/2005 22:28

Money down the drain Aero m'dear, money down the drain. (Have you seen how cheap a bag of oats is? Very low GI as well as all the benefits of soluble fibre.)

littlelamb · 29/08/2005 22:29

Porridge!!!??? Pah!

OP posts:
nannyjo · 29/08/2005 22:30

porridge with banana maple syrup and dollop of creme fraiche, yum

Aero · 29/08/2005 22:31

I know - I use it for those gorgeous flapjacks!!, but just simply cannot face a bowl of porridge - not ever! Wish I could, I know it's so good for me, but, ugh, just couldn't! Feel the same about rice pudding!

Wonder if a couple of flapjacks would keep me going for a whole morning!

expatinscotland · 29/08/2005 22:31

Or with fruit and yogurt. Or honey and cinammon.

MMMMmmm. DD has never had a packaged cereal. Boak. Just full of sugar and fake stuff. Why not just give them a bowl of sugar w/some salt sprinkled on?

littlelamb · 29/08/2005 22:32

Don't darken my thread with all this porridge love! Rice Crispies are the way to go. Maybe you should start your own porridge appreciation thread

Oh, and do consider that halo perfectly straightened! (polish, polish)!

moondog · 29/08/2005 22:33

Dd loves her brekkie of unsweetened porridge (half water/half milk) and watered down juice with fish oils swimming on top.....
(What you aint have, you don't miss.......)

Aero · 29/08/2005 22:37

lol @ boak expat!!

Course ds1 and ds2 both adore the mingin stuff, but dd's with me on this and can't even face milk on regular cereal! She only likes sugary rubbish ones, so basically she's a toast girl as I really only buy the blander ones.
