Re-freezing chicken?

Hi!

I have taken 4 chicken breasts out to defrost this morning (DH froze them that way- I normally freeze in portions of 2 Angry).

Anyway, if I use 2 for tea tonight and cook the other 2, e.g. in a casserole sauce, could I then re-freeze them?

I am not normally so careful with food and will eat anything Blush but as I am 16 weeks preg I feel that I should improve my food hygiene standards!

Thanks for your help!

Yes you can do that - I do it all the time.

Yes no problem. As long as you dont refreeze them before cooking as there will be bacteria.

Once you have cooked them and refrozen, you can only defrost them once & reheat (ie you cant defrost, reheat and refreeze)

That's brilliant, thank you so much for the advice. Looks like DH is off the hook haha!
