It deoends on the recipe but maybe sea bass, snapper or salmon?

I think any fairly meaty white fish.
Ask your fishmonger or fish counter what would be similiar?
What is the recipe?

He's gorgeous!

I just read that red snapper can be used instead if that helps?

Or parrot fish, St peters fish (often available in african/caribbean shops), grey mullet..

wonderful hausfrau!

its Anthony Worral Thompson's pan fried red mullet with olives and tomatoes.

If i can't get red mullet I think I'm going to need a pretty plain suggestion. Red snapper and parrot fish sound lovely but they're not going to be native to Wigan!

Cod or haddock, then!
It'll be fine!
