Apple cake recipe?

Does anyone have a nice recipe to make an apple cake as I've got a whole load of bruised apples the DC's are refusing to eat. I have most ingredients in the cupboard but no vegetable oil however I do have grape oil, nut oil if these can make a suitable alternative, and olive oil (not so sure about that one.

I also love cake and am too skint to indulge in the shops.

If they are eating apples then THIS is a nice recipe - just leave blackberries out if you dont have any.

If you have cooking apples then it must be THIS as it just tastes gorgeous!!!

You could also cook them, and make an apple sauce (for pork etc) and then freeze what you dont use

Have everything in to make that first one and it looks delicious - did laugh when it says will last up to two days - two hours in our house if it's lucky

I did find a nice recipe online this morning and have made that, it was quite similar to your second recipe, must have been good because DC's have had friends round to play this afternoon and it's all gone. It was meant to be for a picnic tomorrow so i'll have to try that first one tonight when they've gone to bed.
