Freezer? my grandma used to freeze it then whisk it into a fab, light dessert.

when did you make it? have you put fruit in it?

fatwildwoman · 05/08/2010 21:45

Add more jelly.

lucysmam · 05/08/2010 21:49

thisisyesterday, yep it's got fruit in.

fatwildwoman, I have no more jelly in the house!! May nip to shop in morning though for one, but how would I get the new jelly to mix with the one we made today?

If all else fails, freezer it will have to be & I'll get her an angel delight or something else to take with her if that doesn't work

have you put pineapple in it? Pineapple has an enzyme that prevents jelly from setting. If not, agree with fww, add more jelly.

lucysmam · 05/08/2010 21:53

no pineapple in there, just bits of orange in the bottom of raspberry jelly

Useful to know that for the future though, dd loves pineapple at the mo!

Wonder if it's something to do with the orange maybe

yep, it was pineapple/kiwi i was wondering about too

did you follow the instructions correctly? i can't imagine why it wouldn't have set.
tho it does take aaaaages to set.... is it still totally liquid?

you could melt another pack of jelly and just stir it in??

oopsandbabycoconuts · 05/08/2010 21:59

More than likely too much water. If you get another jelly just use enough water to disolve it (1/3 of the overall amount of water needed) then take the other jelly out the fridge, add the hot new jelly mix to it - it will all melt and become liquid again then put in the fridge and leave to set.

followed the instructions to the letter. It's TOTALLY liquid & we made it at about 4pm ish so had a good while in there to start setting

Another pack of jelly in the morning it is! She'll be gutted she can't take it with her but hopefully it'll be a nice surprise when she comes home in the afternoon

Thanks ladies, knew someone here would have an idea
