Family Food Cookbooks - suggestions please

As a lover of cookery books, I thought I had the best ones, but I'm missing any with family food in (stews, shepherd's pie, fish pie, risotto, pasta bakes and so on). Particularly, I've realised that I have absolutely no recipes for puddings (sponge and custard, jam roll, jelly!) to treat my son to. Does anyone have any suggestions?

As far as I'm concerned you can't beat Delia's Complete Cookery course, it has all the old favourites and the recipes always turn out well.

Another good family book is Rachel Allen's Home Cooking.

i like my anthony warrell thompson one for families. tamsin ramsey's had lots of family classics when i flicked through it - was a bit too basic/family for me

Gill Holcombe is really good - How to Feed your Family .... (and a couple of others along the same theme now I think) basic recipes, really easy methods, suggested weekly menus etc.
