Tofu from the chinese

So what does tofu taste like? having chinese tonight and looking at something different to the usual chicken in blackbean sauce - does it compare??

Guessing you've had the Chinese now but anyway... tofu really doesn't taste of much. Sort of savoury, but not a strong flavour. It acts like a sponge and soaks up flavours. I love it marinated in soy sauce, garlic and ginger then fried until crispy. I think it's more a texture thing than taste.

Also, because it's quite bland kids tend to love it, ime. DD likes it stir-fried with veg in soy sauce and sesame oil.
