Defrosted Sirloin Steak

Hi, can't believe I left 2 sirloin steaks out of the fridge defrosting all night. Does anyone know if they are safe to eat today? I have put them in the fridge now but concerned that they have been out all night. Thankyou

They were so expensive can't believe I left them out. Thankyou for your replies they have put my mind at ease as I too am paranoid when it comes to food cant go poisening the hubby haha x

They'll be fine. We all get a little obsessed with keeping the chill-chain absolutely unbroken but it's not always necessary. In the days pre-fridges you'd buy your meat from the butcher in the morning, leave it in a coolish larder all afternoon and cook it for supper. (Doubtless some microbiologist will be along soon with a gloom and doom 'speed of multiplication of bacteria' message.... but use your own judgement. )
