Quick veggie teas

Any ideas for instant finger foody teas for a veggie 13mo? Dd is getting a lot of cheese & apple/eggy bread at the mo. We need something quick when we get in from nursery - she is always starving and does not want anything she needs a spoon to eat.

doggiesayswoof - are you me?

I have a 13 mo DD I'm veggie which kind of means she is to although she probably had chicken/fish once a week if DP is eating it.

She also refuses to eat from a spoon as well, cheesy mash with veg in it is her favourite (she will actually eat ot off a spoon), eggy bread is another one, I bought some mini pizza bases and make my own pizzas which I cut up for her. A pack of frozen mixed veg is good to have in the freezer as a stand by. She will eat pasta with a little bit of sauce on it (very messy) or baked beans (again be prepared for the mess).

Would love some new ideas as well.

Hello sweetkitty! I'm an occasional fish eater and dp is a vegan so dd is in between. Dp makes very mild lentil curry for her and she loves it, surprisingly - will eat that off a spoon if she's in the mood. Have tried pasta and sauce with green lentils - she loved the green lentils! The mini pizzas are a good idea - think I'll try those.

this book is fantastic. The early weaning advice is a bit out of date now (talks about solids from 4 months) but the general advice is sound and the recipes are fantastic. Takes you through all the individual foods you can give them at each stage and suggests a whole week's meal plan if you really run out of ideas.

Finger foods in the book include:
Cheese straws
Sesame breadsticks
Pink Panther Spread sandwiches
Happy Hummus dip
Magic Mushromm mush (not those magic mushrooms)

There's a really excellent, no-baking-required Tiffin recipe too!

PS - I'm speaking as a Mum of a totally veggie household

Pitta bread strips spread with hummus, or other dip
Messy but avacado slices tomato slices and cheese and bread.

Soldiers and boiled egg
Chopped up banana
Biscuits with Milk for dipping

I guess these are more for when shes starving and needs fed NOW
