Hello, I am about to become a mother for the first time to a 20 month old and a 7 and a half year old and I have no idea how much food I am supposed to give them, I'm fine on what they should be eating, but I have no idea how much is too little or too much. The 7 year olf wears 9-10 clothes and is tall for her age, the 20 month old is fairly average and eats anything that is put in front of her but I'm worried about when i should stop! All advice gratefully recieved.

A portion size is the size of their fist.

SO a portion of veg is fist sized, a portion of meat, a portion of carbs etc.

DO that first and then you can adjust it if they are still hungry or get full too quickly.

Most young children will only eat till they're full.

Thank you - that's really helpful.
