Jamie Olivers Tomato sauce

In the C4 show Jamie Oliver did, did his tomato sauce have 7 or 12 veg in it & what were they? Any one know?

no idea but I do a bolognese sauce with tomato/red pepper/green pepper/courgettes/mushrooms/onions/carrots (plus mince, red wine, herbs etc) whizz it all up and most kids will eat it. could leave out the mince for a veggie version

Don't think it's in his new book, Jamie's Dinners, but I remember him making it on the prog too.

The simple tomato sauce in Jamie's Dinners is lovely and very easy, but is about 6 veggies short.

Just searched 'oliver'. Over 1000 replies (first 10 nothing to do with jamie oliver! - might try refining my search, I'd like to try this)

sweet tomato pasta and tomato base sauce

This is it:

Very Veggie Sauce

1 butternut squash (peeled & grated)
3 courgettes (grated)
2 red peppers (chopped)
3 small onions (chopped)
6 cans chopped tomatoes
2 bay leaves
lge pinch oregano

Put enough olive oil in a lge pan to cover the bottom. Put all veg in and fry gently for 5-10 mins. Add herbs and tomatoes and simmer for 30 mins. Season. Use blender to whizz it up into a sauce.

Makes 5 pints

I'm salivating thinking of tomorrow and the kitchen. I know that Annabel Karmel's Tomato & Marscapone is a good tomato sauce but had been thinking about all the extra veggies.
