Which drinking cup?

DC2 has a Doidy cup that older brother used successfully.

I've been very lazy in getting her to take any milk or water from it (i always forget to get it out!) when eating at the table but this summer would like to start making the transition from bottle to open cup.

The times she has used it are the usual messy incidents which are fine but we're not really progressing so i wonder if you have any recommendations for other open cups that we could try?

thanks

I'd suggest stick with the doidy and use very small quantities for your DC to practice with. My DS has had one since 6 months then recently it just clicked and he can now do it himself. Literally one day he just picked it up and drank!

Before then, I'd hold it for him to take sips and let him try (he kept turning it upside down!). He does much better when I put a small amount of liquid in at a time (about 1/2 cm deep)

Iggly thanks for your reply.

tried again over dinner - she likes sticking over the rim rather than under!! i think you're right - will keep perservering as i hate having to buy lots of cups that might not get used!

yes - I have about 3 or 4 cups but he can now use the doidy which I had bought first... Although the other sippy cups are useful for when he's in the pram and wants a drink
