Making cupcakes with food processor HELP

Just tried using food processor for the first time to make cupcakes, and the instructions said to use the knife blade, but it didn't mix it well at all. I ended up tipping out into bowl and using electric mixer. Any ideas what I am doing wrong, how long should it take?

No need for a food processor - I think if anything it would make it difficult to judge the consistency of the mixture and may end up "overbeating".

I normally use an electric mixer for a minute or so to cream the butter and sugar then beat in the eggs. Then switch to a spoon to gently fold in the flour.

However recently I have had just as good results using only a spoon (couldn't be bothered to get the electric mixer out of the cupboard). Takes only a couple of minutes.

Have I know chance of them turning out ok? I then used electric mixer afer food processor didn't work? Oh, and the recipe said to add all the ingredients together and then mix till light and fluffy....so I didn't do it in stages
