Help - pouring cream

PandaG · 22/07/2010 09:05

am about to make buns, with a white choc icing. Recipe calls for pouring cream to be melted heated with white choc, then beaten with cream cheese and icing sugar to make the icing.

is single or double cream pouring cream? Have googled but not got a definitive answer - thought it was single then several places said single not for heating use double

thanks !

def double cream in this instance

I have a chocolate icing recipe that uses double cream, so I'd be more inclined that way.

thanks very much both of you - I was veering towards double myself so you have confirmed what I thought.

Why oh why did I suggest to the kids that homemade buns would be a suitable thankyou present for the teachers? Did it last year, DC now expected it this!

have coloured and cut out sugarpaste to spell thank you and various hearts and stars. Now for hairdressers and then (much later knowing the hairdresser) shopping and baking!

Well I was up till almost midnight on Monday night producing a tray of cakes for the staffroom! No children involved.

They went down very well, apparently. After they'd been rearranged to spell all sorts of other words...
