defrosting the freezer

can I put all my frozen stuff in cool box for a few hours with lots of ice packs while I defrost the freezer? There is no meat as we are veggies... will everything stay frozen?? How do you defrost yours?

Should be okay - wrap everything in newspaper too (insulates it and helps to keep it cold...) Then I tecnd to help the process along by using pans of hot water....!

i'd put it all in a coolbag and get the hairdryer on it. then you don't have to wait hours...

thanks for the tips - hairdryer a good idea, and the newspaper - will save the sunday times!

Bowls of steaming water on the shelves too - helps loosen the ice above.
