how do I stop veggie sticks drying out?

I want to prepare lots of veggie sticks - carrot, cucumber etc - in advance as it's easier to snack on. I had some left over from a picnic yesterday that I'd put in tupperware, and they were edible, but really dry so not as nice.

I'm guessing putting them in water would spoil them, what can I do to keep them nice?

Putting them in water wouldn't have spoiled them BTW. Vegetables are mostly water anyway.
