would you throw this out?

I just cleaned out my fridge and found a pack of luncheon meat hidden in the back. I bought it two weeks ago, it had a Sell By date of 8 July. I just opened it and it looks, smells and tastes fine - in fact I'm having some for lunch.

But I don't want to throw the rest out (it was a huge packet, there's almost half a pound left) but I can't use it up today.

Would it be OK to freeze it today and use it in the next couple of weeks?

I wouldn't freeze it personally, but how about if you cooked it today (can you cook it?) then put it back in the fridge and made a pasta sauce with it in or something tomorrow?

If it looks, smells, and tastes fine then it is probably fine. The dates are a guess, and usually a very conservative guess to ensure that you don't sue.

It's already cooked, it's a bit like Spam! I hope it will be ok, if it still tastes fine tomorrow I'll do it with some cheesy noodles. Fingers crossed.

Having been reformed by my dh i would use it (on the grounds stated above that it smelt ok etc) but i would not freeze it.
lots of the same for you this week for lunch and dinner then .

luckily DH is away for the week so I can feed it to DD who loves it. Spam fritters for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, er spam pasta for dinner?

Aaaah Spam should have known luncheon meat was code for something Deffo cook it I reckon - I sometimes cook ham which I think is on the turn and bung it on a pizza or pasta or something
