Pirate party themed food - Any ideas?

Am planning the food for DD's party which is in early september. I will be providing for 20 children and about 25 adults and would like to theme the party in a pirate theme as she is mad about pirates at the mo. I am thinking of doing a treasure chest or pirate hat cake but wondered if there were any other idea's that I could put to use..

Any advice much appreciated!

Jules

You could have a chest full of chocolate golden coins (maybe you could do that with the cake?). If you are arty/crafty you could make quite a few little pirate treasure chests (cardboard? dunno - I'm rubbish at that kind of stuff ) and then just fill them with whatever food you want - kind of food treasure!

You could try and find the little plastic cocktail sticks in shape of mini swords - great for cheese and pineapple and mini sausages on sticks.
