I have used Mumsnet over the past few months for support & diversion during the arrival of dc2.

It's been a great help and, with one weird exception (which introduced me to the term "cybermunching"), a lot of fun.

I have to leave, though. It's too easy for me to forget that this is a public forum viewable by anyone, not a private meeting of friends in my lounge. Mumsnet is getting very popular and I'd rather not open the Sunday papers and find that an intimate post of mine is being ridiculed (or, worse still, passed off as someone else's idea!)

When I am old and grey, and my great-grandchildren are cooing in their Mumsnet TM hoverpods, I will smile and think, "I remember when this was all fields..."

I understand what you're saying - I feel the same way too. Not sure that I have the willpower to drag myself off though! It has been a pleasure talking to you.

Well done you. Its a shame but I understand. I've said it before and I'll say it again, we'll all leave Mumsnet one day ... enjoy your family and good luck .

Call that a flounce - I give you 2 points for style

It's a good point about the MN name-checking that is going on. Will MN become a victim of it's own success? Perhaps the Moldies have a point ...
