Clubbing in 40s

Probably not the right theme to post this under, but not sure where else. I am in my 40s and want to go clubbing. Loved it at uni, got married at 22 and moved away from uni friends. DH not into it at all and other friends I have made since are not really into it. Kids are teenagers now so I don't have the need to be at home in evening as much. Any tips?

The clubs of the 90’s just don’t exist anymore (either literally or atmosphere radically different). I reckon your best leaving the good memories in the past- you’ll be disappointed if you try to recapture it.

Just go and do it. No one is really looking at you.

Revival nights. People are catching going on our age group still want to go out to what we did in the past and have disposable income to do it.

For the closest replication of those old school clubs we remember I think you need to visit Ibiza!

You need to go to a proper club night. I don’t mean a nightclub - I mean like an organised club night. People go for the music and you won’t feel out of place.

Ibiza is what you need! All the old favourite clubs. I used to go all the time & loved it.

i did it the other way round & partied /stayed out all night all weekend until I was 38 then decided to settle down & have a child & now the thought of clubbing is v unappealing!

Festivals can be good for this vibe in the summer. Plenty of opportunity for losing it dancing with a bunch of strangers after dark.

Ckockstock is on tomorrow, Chelmsford racecourse.

What club nights did you frequent?
A lot of established nights do reunion party's, often day raves. Loads of people turn up alone, and often leave with a bunch of new friends 😎

All the naysayers can speak for themselves, I went out out a while back at age 46, had a great time, confident I could have pulled if I'd wanted to but no one bothered me, I was with people in their twenties and there was plenty of gossip in the aftermath, it still comes up in conversation occasionally for a couple of reasons. We'll caw canny next time there's passionfruit margaritas on tap for £4.50. I'd leap at the chance to do it again.

Ah me too!! I’m in the aame
position. I’ve seen some festivals and dance events at local Manor House’s that are like 90s dance events, obviously aimed at 90s kids.

I will be following with interest.
