A few months ago I removed my pleco's usual cave in hope it would slow down the amount of eggs being laid. He was laying in a piece of bog wood and I was getting around 5 survive from each spawn, I got over run with them but eventually managed to sell and rehome them.
Anyway 2 weeks ago my male moved into a new cave and my albino female laid her eggs, today I went for a poke around as he had been in there for a long time, I was shocked to see what I expect to be 50 babies
. Part of me is thinking 'wtf am I going to do with that many plecs?' But the other part of me is very excited ( they are so cute ).
So what's the chances of them all surviving? I have female Bettas, gourami and Corys in the tank, will any of them eat the baby pleco's?
