Or let Colin Farrell dye his hair blonde?

Apparently this is because Colin Farrell couldn't do the right accent...so everyone else had to put on his accent to stop him looking so bad...

It's hilarious isn't it? But Colin's blond hair is the clincher. He looks ridiculous

What I find so funny is that all the actors seem to get to the point where they're fully aware it's awful but they have no choice but to carry on. It's as if they know Sort of Acorn Antiques-esque iykwim.

Normally ancient Greeks and Romans in Hollywood films have English accents, even when played by Americans or Australians. To me, an ancient having an Irish accent makes no more or less sense than that.

Did they have Elnett (by the tonne) then?

I couldn't get past Angelina Jolie playing Farrel's mum. They must be roughly the same age.

Olympias was as young as 14 or so when Alexander was born so AJ was roughly the right age for some of thefilm at least. I thought she was the best thing about the film actually - the rest of it is just awful and Farrell sould never have been let near it. The only film that's possibly worse is Troy.....

Oh, yes how could I forget the joy of Troy. I think the hairstylist used to work for Wham circa 1984.

But, Farrell is 34 and Jolie is 35. It was ridiculous.

Oh yes the age gap between them was daft - but AJ was the right age for the latter part of the film iyswim.
