The Road

Saw this last night having read the book and loved it. I'm glad the baby roasting scene wasn't included...
So sad at the end- but hope too.
Robert Duvall stupendous as usual.

I hated the book so I don't think I could be tempted into seeing the movie.

It was just so samey. Walking. See house. Break in. Find food. Walking. See house. Break in. No food. Walking. See house YAWN.

took ages to work up the courage to watch the movie, but glad i finally did as it was perfectly realised. i thought the little boy was great too. the film probably didn't make as big an impression as the novel, but that would have been difficult.

Loved this, saw it this week, what a stunning film, it's really stayed with me and I'd love to read the book. I dreaded seeing the film but am glad I have now.

My only tiny criticism is I could have done without Chalize, Duvall and Guy Pearce. They reminded me it was a film when otherwise I might have been more lost in it. Shame but I can see why they do this. All three were great, just a little too famous. Mortensen is so good I always forget it's a film when he's on screen!
