Alice In Wonderland - suitable for 4 year olds?

Hello,
I have a couple of extra children to stay over this weekend and was thinking of taking them to see Alice in Wonderland at the cinema.
The children are 4, 7 and 8. Would it be suitable for all? Especially the 4 yr olds?
Wouldn't want a couple of terrified kids staying at my house when Mummy's not nearby!
Thanks

I think the 4yr old would get bored tbh

My 6yo enjoyed Alice, but I got the feeling it was right on the edge of being too scary. And we only saw it in 2D.

There are some very gruesome bits, eyeballs being popped out, heads being chopped off, moats full of dead heads etc.
Not sure she would have handled this either in 3D or 12 months ago.

What about Nanny McPhee instead? From what I've heard Alice might be a bit scary
