what seemed to me to be HUGE narrative gap but bizarrely no one I've spoken to noticed or cared?

Holmes drags dead body into 221b and says (paraphrasing badly from memory) 'This is the man who tried to kill you in your rooms.'
Watson: 'Thanks for that.'
Holmes: ' If we find out who he is he'll lead us to Blackwood'.

Cue sequence of final events.

I'm completely stumped. That scene wasn't in the film and I don't know how they then got to Blackwood.

Was I not paying attention ?
It ruined the whole final act for me and I was enjoying it SO much.

My hubby said that someone definitely did but he can't remember exactly now either! LOL

I think that the body is from the scene where they are attacked by the huge french guy. There are a couple of sidekicks with him and one gets killed. I thought it was a bit obscure too.

i thought the film was boring. and this despite fact that i love robert downing juior. (ever since he did chaplin, im big fan) and the other guys. i adore him. but the film was totally forgettable

I love RDJ but he is no Holmes.

Oh now I loved this film so much I am considering switching obsessive fandoms. But still I am completely not remembering the scene you mention...dead body? Clearly in the interests of science I must watch it again.

RDJ makes a loverley Holmes imo. And I can even stomach Jude Law as Watson (which was a surprise as I have hated everything else that he has ever done)

RDJ=lust emoticon is definitely required - perhaps a smiley with an upturned collar and blue sun glasses?

OK The dead body is the man who attacked Watson in Reardons lodgings (Reardon was the red headed chemist inventor who was dead in Blackwoods coffin). Holmes & Watson pop over there and then the three thuugs (including big French guy) come over and big fight ensues.

Watson is thanking Holmes cos Holmes threw (electrically) the big French guy at Watsons attacker (the dead guy) and apparently killed him (the dead guy not Watson or the big French guy)

See simples just put an obsessive on the case
