We went to a preview of Madagascar today. Its really good !! There's a lot of 'grown up' humour in it, but everyone loved it. The characters are really funny (penguins were my favourites) and look out for the monkeys throwing poo line !! On a par with Shrek !

We went to see this too, it was really funny. Lots of great quirky bits, loved the giraffe on the metro!

katierocket · 03/07/2005 19:30

is it suitable for 4 year old?

Doddle · 03/07/2005 19:33

DS2 is 4, and he loved it! There was nothing really scary at all. Whizzz, I must thank you, as I booked the tickets after seeing your post last Sunday!

Whizzz · 03/07/2005 19:39

My DS is 4 (5 in Sept) & he loved it. There is just one bit where animals are chasing through the jungle (snarling & big teeth) but nothing else. There were smaller children in the cinema to & I didn't hear any crying !

The music is great too !

Glad to be of assistance Doddle - don't you just love freebies !

Absolutely fantastic. Took the boys (4, 6 & 36) to see it at a preview yesterday.

vickiyumyum · 10/07/2005 20:15

ooh can't wait off to see it on saturday in brighton after the gruffalo! ( too give my dh time to go fishing!) and as i can't keep spending money on clothes that none of us need in the lanes we have booked to see the gruffalo and madagascar. looks like itd going to be a whole day without seeing sunlight!

Planning to take DD (3y3m) to this. It will be first time we have taken her to the cinema, although she has seen some shows (theatre and at Disney) and watches films at home. She seems really keen. Going to make a full afternoon of it - with dinner after. Glad to hear it getting good reviews.

fishfinger · 11/07/2005 13:52

watch out forthe volume
cinemas are REALLY LOUd

NomDePlume · 11/07/2005 14:13

We've seen it too, DD, almost 3, adored it.

Mo2 · 11/07/2005 14:14

Sorry to be a dissenting voice, but went with DH, DS1 (5) and DS2 (3) on Sunday and we all thought it was CRAP !

Thin storyline, not as much adult humour as Shrek, not even that much 'visual humour' for the little ones either.

DS1 & DS2 are toddler film-buffs too - love Nemo, Shrek, Incredibles etc etc

DS1's critique coming out was: "Let's not buy the DVD Mummy when it's out, we should save our money for soemthing we REALLY want..." (How well trained is he????)

Mo2 · 12/07/2005 21:38

Ooops - sorry - threadkiller.....

Seen it twice - DS1 (3) loved it so much, we went back a week later. I thoroughly enjoyed it, too . DS came out singing the dance song - in Spanish, so a real break-through for him ~ happy Mum face!
