Would not normally take DS2 (6.5) to a 12A but we are looking for something to see this afternoon and there's not a lot on.

We can do something else of course! just wondered if anyone had taken 6yo (pretty OK with stuff like Dr Who etc) to see it.

I think DS1 (10) wd love it.
Any views? Also it's v v long - does it really engage for 2.5hrs plus?

Hmm. Not sure. I am unsure whether to take my 8 year old. Mainly because of the length really.

BIL took 11 and 9 year olds and they were fine in think.

I took DD who is 7 and a few months.
She loved it but I would stress that she is amazingly hard to scare.
There are lots of very scary monster and warfare scenes - not up close and bloody but warfare and death just the same.
DD watchs Dr Who and Primeval and Harry Potter. If your DS2 is ok with those he may be alright.
It is long too. DD was rapt and didn't move a muscle but some smaller ones were fidgetty

Probably depends on the 6yo.
We took our 6yo and she loved it. Sat still all the way through.

Oh that's helpful thanks ladies.

He is really OK with Dr Who (10yo more likely to be scared tbh) and concentrates well when engaged (eg will watch a film like Big or Oliver! all the way thru).

Reckon we'll give it a go.

Are you going to see it in 3d? It was fantastic but my eyes did get a bit sore and I had a headache afterwards (my DH was fine though). Just to warn you in case it is a 3d showing you are going to see.

We went to 3D IMAX showing. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Didn't have any problems with our eyes afterwards.

My 6 yr old was fine with it. I was worried it would be too long more than anything else & that he would bet bored & annoy the others but apparently he was ok (dh took them)

yy watching it in 3D.

Just about to venture off into the snow (walking there! hopefully in this winter wonderland that will be part of the treat!)
