Anyone seen District 9?

It's one of those films that I was still thinking about when I woke up the next morning.

Disturbing.
Brilliant.

was fab wasn't it. loved the small alien, i found it slightly disturbing too especially the bit where they were testing his weapon (oo-er)

I really hated it, DP thought it was great.

Just watched it...and very good film very irritating main character!

Yes I agree anniek, he is irritating, weak and even portrayed as a baddie in the first half. But he eventually becomes a hero and ultimately has to pay penance for his evil deeds (3 years as a prawn!) Most irriatating thing about him for me was the way he kept saying "fooking" this that and the other in that wierd SA accent!

I thought it was a deeply allegorical story - much more about outsiders, and how we sometimes treat different races / refugees / asylum seekers etc, than it was about aliens and weapons.

I think I hated it because of the main character really. I didn't find him likable in anyway, thought he was more of a (bad) comedy character that didn't really fit in with the rest of the film.

I think it could have been a good film if done better, iykwim.
