I have only read/heard fantastic reviews for this. Anybody else really excited about watching this?

Very very very excited about this! The trailer gets me every time. Its out this Friday isn't it?

Oh my DS loves the book. Do you think age 3 is too young for the film?

JeMeSouviens · 09/12/2009 17:43

I took our 2y+4m to see it, he was enthralled. I have to say, I just didn't GET it. Maybe I was looking at some deeper meaning. The two other adults who came with us said they enjoyed it though.

I heard that really 10yrs plus is the age recommended, although I suspect the deeper stuff wiil sail over the heads of much younger viewers. That said, my 2 DC adore this book but at 5.11 and 3.6 yrs I'm not taking them to see it until I've seen it first

I know someone who went today and the kids got so bored they left.

Any other reviews.

I absolutely loved it, in a moody, sad kind of way. Not at all suitable for children I'd say: little ones won't know what's going on, older ones won't care as it's just not that exciting (the rumpus bits are but it's not all like the trailers want you to believe) and teenagers ... well, it's not really for them either.

I thought it was beautifully shot, heartfelt and yes I cried. Some parts weer moving but it was all quite subtly done.

The rumpus parts are lots of fun to watch too.

The most truely awful film I have seen in my life. EVER!!! Boring beyond belief. Neither DSs (5&9) were overly impressed. Actually made me look forward to seeing Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakwell (sp!). Now that's saying something!!!

I saw this today with an 8 year old and an 11 year old. 8 year old thought it was too sad, 11 year old thought it was boring, I hated it. It was really just miserable and I was very tempted to leave.
