is fantastic. And I say that as one who is normally brought out in a rash by Jim Carrey. But do not take small or sensitive children to see it, because it will scare the crap out of them.

kids i look after are desperate to go see it but even when the advert comes on my skin crawls for some reason! and i like carrey!

is it really that good?

ok can i sit through it with a 10 yr old and 7 year old...though will have to bring 6 mtnh old to!

It is very good. They did dick about with some of the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come segment (although TGoCYTC himself was very well done) but they'd built up enough goodwill by then that I didn't mind too much, and that will probably be children's favourite bit.

I can't wait to see this but im not going until at least 10th Dec.

I'm taking my 6 year old and I'm more excited than him.

Not naff, but the Marley's Ghost sequence is genuinely very scary for small children. DS's friend (5) didn't make it past that point and had to leave the cinema...

my 6 year old is a bit on the soft side!!! i'll have too take a pillow or him to cover his face.

DH took DC1 6yrs and DC2 4yrs just this afternoon to watch this movie.
DC1 loved it.
DC2 was absolutely petrified apparently, dived onto DHs lap during the opening scence.
DH was in and out the auditorim, backwards and forwards with DC2 trying to reassure him but to no avail and had to leave before they'd even seen 50% of the movie.
DH commented that he heard and saw other children crying.

Hi, I am very excited to go and see it with DD (5). I am a little bit concerned about her freaking out after 10 minutes of seeing it as she is quite sensitive but:
1: I showed her the trailer several times and asked her specifically if she didn't find it too scary.
2: She and I absolutely love "A Christmas Carol" and she knows the story inside and out and can't wait to go.
She was kind of "laughing" at the scary bits (ie Marley's ghost and the spirit of Christmas yet to come) but I think it was more of a nervous laugh.
I have the feeling she will be alright, I hope so because I don't want to be disturbed through it!!!
I think it's going to be magical, closer to Christmas though.
They don't seem to show the 2D version as often as the 3D one. I think the 3D version might be even more scary for a young child and also you have to wear those special glasses don't you?

Am looking forward to taking DD2 to see it, but will have to seek out the 2D version as anything in 3D scares the bejesus out of her (Since we went on the Shrek experience at Universal Studios). She now has a clinical aversion to the glasses.

Saw the 3D version last night. Absolutely fantastic film. Brilliant animation and Jim Carrey was very good (and I can't stand him either). Faithful enough to the book, and it's nice to see that Disney don't always make everything "fluffy bunnies". I would highly recommend this to anyone over 7.

Just come back from seeing this film with my dh, ds and dd. Have to say we all thought it was rubbish. DH feel asleep through it, ds kept yawning and saying it is nearly finished I was yawning all the way through as well.
