Boco · 12/04/2009 19:16

I love it, it makes me cry laughing.

brimfull · 12/04/2009 19:16

I love that film,it's one of those fims you can watch again and again

Spidermama · 12/04/2009 19:18

Yes. Really good. At first I was concerned my 9 and 10 year old were watching because of all the effing and blinding, but in the end I'm really glad they saw it.

pointydog · 12/04/2009 19:18

some bits were so funny. All teh bits with teh dad at the beginning.

oh gosh. I didn't let the dds watch it (12,10). What's its rating out of interest?

ChocolateEggMayorNaze · 12/04/2009 19:19

my kids would love it i think - olive is just like what dd2 will grow up to be...
not sure of the language though...

they are 9, 7 and 2 - will think about it...

pointydog · 12/04/2009 19:21

the grandad goin g on and on about fucking lots of girls in teh van near the beginning. I'd've felt uncomfortable with that

OP posts:
Spidermama · 12/04/2009 19:23

Ew!! I didn't hear that bit.

Caz10 · 12/04/2009 19:23

Don't think it's a kids film. But it is so so good, I was doing that really stupid giggling that you can't stop in the cinema everytime the horn went off in the van. And somehow the ending should be so cringey but they pull it off.

pointydog · 12/04/2009 19:24

ahh the horn! That was a great sound

ChocolateEggMayorNaze · 12/04/2009 19:32

thats a good point about the obscene grandad actually...

i think its just the end dancing part reminds me of what my kids would do...

Boco · 12/04/2009 19:49

God yes teh horn bit, and when they get pulled over by the policeman. I watched it with my step sister and we could see quite a few similarities between my step dad and the grandfather.

pointydog · 12/04/2009 23:12

really boco? wow!

SlartyBartFastlaidanegg · 12/04/2009 23:15

it is a 15, too much effing ...
there is another thread on this

SlartyBartFastlaidanegg · 12/04/2009 23:15

i think the ending was the best and appropriate one that there could have been.

SlartyBartFastlaidanegg · 12/04/2009 23:17

here last night and today

mucho discussions

SlartyBartFastlaidanegg · 12/04/2009 23:18

eek

how did that happen ??

Chatkins · 12/04/2009 23:19

I watched it for first time last night, have wanted to see it for ages. BUt I watched it in bed and kept drifting off to sleep then jerking awake again ! Hope I didn't miss too much !

Was the daughters dance routine a total secret until she did it ? Or had the grandad taught her it ? I didn't get that bit.
Loved it though, was hilarious.

mrsmaidamess · 12/04/2009 23:20

The grandad had taught her it. The only bit I didn't like was when all the family got up and joined in.

Chatkins · 12/04/2009 23:24

Ah, thankyou mrsmaidamess - I definitly missed that bit !

notnowbernard · 12/04/2009 23:26

Which Oscar did it win?

SlartyBartFastlaidanegg · 12/04/2009 23:27

granddad won and also best screenplay.

Chatkins · 12/04/2009 23:27

I also missed the bit when he died - how and when did that happen ??
