DP watched it the other day, I missed it though. He loved it and cried his eyes out at the end (which he didn't expect! ) Hopefully I'm going to watch it soon.

I quite fancy it as I really like Cate Blanchett, but the clips remind me a bit of Forest Gump to be honest. I think I will go and see it but I really really must go and see Slumdog first.

rubbish

cornsilk · 15/02/2009 21:34

Does he turn into a baby at the end?

branflake81 · 17/02/2009 11:07

It was shite. I walked out before the end.

It reminded me of forrest gump, whining on and on about nothing particulary important and meeting other, not particulary important characters along the way.

Scorta · 17/02/2009 11:07

odd and strangly moving film

BitOfFun · 17/02/2009 11:26

This is the one where he gets younger as she ages, right? Does she have a cut-off point in mind for the rumpy-pumpy then? 18? At hat point does it get too creepy for her? Sorry to lower the tone...

Dear god that was awful. My bloody film choice as well so DH got to grumble all the way through it. Characterisation terrible, couldn't hear half of what anyone was saying due to ridiculous mumbling passing for Southern Accents, actors so stuffed full of foam and masks to make them look older that they couldn't act and schmalzy sentimental music every time something that potentially could have been poignant took place. I cried at the end, but then I cried during Ice Age ( a much superior movie) when the Mannys wife and child got killed.

DH said it reminded him of Forrest Gump which was crap too.

Bitoffun to answer your questions : Yes, No, Never.....

I'm 2 hrs 10 mins into it and it's the longest, least meaningful drivel I've ever seen that aspires to an Oscar.
