I don't DO films with any depth since having DC. I'm just too incontinent in the emotional department. Am particularly hopeless at all things child poverty/neglect/abuse/fear/hunger/pain (you get the picture).
Friend suggested we go and see Slumdog Millionaire this afternoon and I went with almost no preconceived ideas about the film.
I absolutely LOVED this film. It was really hard to watch for the first hour, but I was gripped by the story, characters, cinematography, music. When it ended, an emotional 2 hours later, I cried and went all non-British and clapped.
Have always been a fan of Danny Boyle and think this is an amazing film.
Was very pleased that the end credits calmed down the sobbing, so that I could face my public when the lights went up.
