WOW!
The man who walked on a tightrope from one world trade tower to the other.
DP downloaded it tonight and am watching it now.
AMAZING!

Yup - saw it at the cinema. Cool-i-o.

It was strangely moving, didn't you find?

Felt a bit sorry for his girlfriend, though...

Ab-so-fuckin-lutley

Just sat here, misty eyed and watching through my fingers, saying to DP how is his girlfriend able to bear this??!!

And all those funny guys he roped in to help him pull off the stunt! Such a mad tale.

I really like that there are people in the world who would do such a thing. It's beautiful.

We are so in tune on this.
I put my hands together and just thanked God out loud for people like him and DP agreed wholeheartedly.
Pictures of him as a child on a rope just moved me to tears. A child's passion staying with him throughout his life is a wonderful, magical thing and all this amazing footage, just fantastic.

It must have been such a profound event for them all too. His friends who helped him still seemed deeply affected by it decades later when they were talking about it.

I loved the description of how - on the day - they were saying "Look up! Look up! A man is walking a wire between the towers!" - exhilarating! Imagine seeing such a thing!

It's also strange to think that those buildings are no longer there. Eerie.

You're so right: I am always moved by people who have a dream and pursue it to its end.

What a beautiful film.

And the NYPD's asking him 'but why'! "There is no why".

And 'when was the last time you drank?' "Are you mad, I danced on top of the world and you are asking me this are you mad?" 'This mad is normal, he is just thirsty' LOL

Am so pleased I've seen this

And yes DP and I were moved at how deep the impact has been on those involved.

FairLadyRantALot · 03/01/2009 23:59

really...I mean I saw the ads on tv...but all I thought when seeing it was...wtf.....I don't get this kind of thing...I really don't...just like that guy locking himself into a glasbox without food and water....I do not get it....

RaggedRobin · 04/01/2009 21:49

he's just this really interesting character; totally driven to do amazing things. he's inspirational because he just doesn't accept that he has limits. not really so gimmicky as david blaine.

FairLadyRantALot · 04/01/2009 22:05

hm...I take your word for it....possibly, if it is on TV I will watch it....who knows I may agree....
