Nothing too taxing/arty/violent, nothing that will be compromised by being watched in 45-mins installments over a couple of nights. Just your favourite cosy/funny movies, please.

I think Jerry Maguire's sweet, but always seems very long...

ghosty · 14/03/2005 09:17

I was going to say what HandbagAddiction said ...
Jerry Maguire ..... I love it when DH goes out so I can watch it!

flamesparrow · 14/03/2005 09:17

Loser - got the guy from American Pie in it... lovely film!!

HandbagAddiction · 14/03/2005 09:20

Ooh yes - strictly ballroom - another fave of mine. Have to watch that one alone as DH can't stand it!!

Janh · 14/03/2005 09:20

Oh yes, gb - love Big!

Also quite like the similar one where the boy and the dad swap - something to do with an African Mask. (Looked it up on imdb - Vice Versa.)

Twiglett · 14/03/2005 09:21

Just watched 'Under the Tuscan Sun' and enjoyed it despite thinking "what the hell did you get that out for DH"

he unfailingly picks good movies for me that I think why? and then really enjoy

flamesparrow · 14/03/2005 09:38

LOL - Nothing like a bit of hacking people up to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

SeaShells · 14/03/2005 09:39

I love Texas chainsaw masacre, the old one though, hated the remade version. It's a classic!

Anything with Meg Ryan in!

Does anyone know that other film with Meg Ryan in where she goes after a bloke and ends up in France? It's got that guy in from A Fish Called Wanda.

flamesparrow · 14/03/2005 09:44

That'd be French Kiss I think...

JoolsToo · 14/03/2005 09:45

Kevin Klein?

Newbarnsleygirl · 14/03/2005 09:46

My Fair Lady- lovely songs and a happy ending

stereoboomer · 21/03/2016 12:45

"About time" with Bill Nighy, Rachel McAdams and Domhall Gleeson takes some beating.

BagelGoesWalking · 21/03/2016 16:09

Begin Again with Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightley is lovely. Would easily watch for a 2nd time.

Pride is fantastic
Sunshine on Leith is fun
The Help
Big Fish
Goodwill Hunting
A Long Way Down
The Birdcage (version with Robin Williams and Nathan Lane)
Nebraska (got a big thumbs-up on another thread)
White House Down (if you fancy an action movie when you know Channing Tatum will sort it all out)

HerdOfRhino · 22/03/2016 14:47

A Grand Day Out with Wallace and Gromit...It is only short though.
Laura's Star
