Anyone watched Gael Garcia Bernal films?

As a Mexican, I’m really proud he has a fan base in the UK. He lived in the UK for a while and has done films there.

I know the ladies love Gael (can’t blame you all, honestly! 😂), but I’m wondering how many of you have seen his actual Mexican films, rather than just his Hollywood or English-language stuff? Things like Amores Perros or Y Tu Mamá También?

Our Mexican films are great and usually covers deeper stuff

is it just him or do guys and ladies like us other Mexicans out here too 😂 🤣

I've seen most of his films. Amores perros was the first film I watched in Spanish. Also a big fan of Diego Luna - I have a soft spot for Rudo y Cursi in particular, I think they're a great pairing and wonderful friends.

It's a shame we only really see their English language work here in the UK unless we actively seek out or can access Mexican TV and cinema, Roma being the only exception in the last few years, predominantly due to the Oscars hype it got. You're right, the topics covered in English language stuff by these actors tends to only paint a very small part of the picture.

I watched the two films you mentioned years ago and loved them. Must rewatch them. (I’m not Mexican but have family there and lived there for a year. Im a massive Mexico lover ❤️❤️)

So much great work from them and much more!

Wish you could see it!
