Similar to another thread but just the opposite

The new Star Wars - My god i was so looking forward to that - but GL just turned it into a giant arse Sandwich. Were to start???? Jar Jar. Nope I can't carry on - I want to cry now......

Alexander - A paddy Greek!! Ok I know he was not greek, but its late and I can't think to spell where he is from

Terminator 3 - Film too far.

Indy Jones iv - Good to the last 15 mins and then a total train wreck

Troy - Brad was so Wooden I got splinters

Transformers - Once you see the robots change once it was dull. Story was piss poor.

There will be others - i have upset myself now just thinking I paid to watch all these at the pictures

Brokeback Mountain. Started watching it on Saturday night, DH was out at beer festival, said he didn't feel like watching DVD of gay cowboys. 20 minutes in nothing had happened, too bored to watch any more.

Oh yes English Patient as well, me and my friend called him Mr Krusty.

Haven't been to see Borat, because I know I would hate it.

crunch · 23/06/2008 14:10

Some already mentioned. Agree re

  1. Open Water
  2. Blair Witch
  3. Premonition (Sandra Bullock Bollox)
  4. Rocky (the last one)
  5. Lost in Translation

To add my own

  1. Apocolypto(sp?) (some shit by Mel gibson)
  2. Cloverfield (Blare Witch meets Return of The Blob. My eyeballs were still shaking an hour after seeing it!
  3. Open Water 2, called Adrift in other countries (Same as first only more people in the water)
annoyingdevil · 23/06/2008 14:21

Agree with Brokeback montain. Loved Blair Witch though (truly scary). Most hyped up film I have seen recently has to be The Darjeeling Ltd - pile of pretentious tosh with really irritating characters

mybabysinthegarden · 23/06/2008 14:24

Raaah and bran-- didn't you just cringe in Meet Joe Black when he started talking in a Carribean accent to the old lady in hospital. And why was the girl so twitchy all the time?

I liked Lost in Translation but Virgin Suicides was pretty thin and Marie Antoinette so incredibly duff I'm starting to think that Sofia Coppola made that one decent film by accident, sort of like she has access to lots of really nice ingredients and throws them together and once made something tasty but the other two times wound up with an unpalatable mess.

rookiemater · 23/06/2008 14:26

Oh I couldn't understand Lost In Translation, why didn't they just shag and be done with it fgs.

Oh yes Love Actually was incredibly tiresome. Some of the stories, particularly the Emma Thompson one might have made a good film in themselves, but all mishmashed together, with a hideous feel good message at the end, bleurrghh.

geordieminx · 23/06/2008 14:39

That stupid police one with Simon Pegg - it was so auwful it was laughable - not in a good way!!

geordieminx · 23/06/2008 14:41

Hot Fuzz - thats the one (thanks Fawkeoff)

geekgirl · 23/06/2008 14:41

well, I loved Brokeback Mountain. And Apocalypto. And Meet Joe Black. So ner!!

Also hated Cloverfield though - after all the excitement and build-up, what a complete and utter let-down. Just a badly made creature feature, copying 'The Host' and not even doing a good job.

Poledra · 23/06/2008 14:43

Hmm, not sure I should join this as I loved Serenity and enjoyed Brokeback Mountain. However, agree that Lost in Translation went over my head. Biggest recent disappointment was I Am Legend, watched on DVD on Sat night - only redeeming moment was Will Smith with his shirt off

donnie · 23/06/2008 14:51

Gangs of New York.

A load of crap.

Moulin Rouge - see above comment.

CatIsSleepy · 23/06/2008 14:51

yep Hot Fuzz was pants-think Simon Pegg and the other one just love guns a bit too much

quite liked Lost in Translation the first time around, second time I saw it it was just annoying
same goes for American Beauty-pretentious tosh really

on the other hand I thougth Blair Witch and Open Water were good

sallysparkle · 23/06/2008 14:51

Yep Love Actually here too. I do love a cheesy rom com but even I drew the line here

FranSanDisco · 23/06/2008 14:55

No country for old men - what's with the ending? Dh and me thought we'd passed out and missed it but we hadn't We are obvioulsy a bit thick or summit.

crunch · 23/06/2008 14:58

My problem with Blair Witch and Open Water was that I was hooked all the way to the very disappointing end. I was at the edge of my seat in the cinema watching Blair Witch then just when it was getting interesting....it was fucking over! Over an hour of motion sickness for nothing.

Flashman · 23/06/2008 15:19

Borat was wonderful - My jaw almost hit the floor - total ball of steel!!!

OP posts:
imoscarsmum · 24/06/2008 11:55

Just seen The Watching. Total and utter crap ending. Not what I expected at all.

falcon · 28/06/2008 10:37

Sideways was incredibly dull and where was the humour?

American Beauty. Equally dull.

The Princess Bride, I wouldn't say pants but I think it's certainly overrated.

I loved The English Patient, I didn't find it dull but even if I had, I'd have stuck with it for the sheer indulgence of 3 hours of Ralph Fiennes.

Flier · 28/06/2008 10:41

I am legend was not what I expected, and usually love will smith, was really bored by it.

Umlellala · 28/06/2008 11:00

agree with lots here -
little miss sunshine
american beauty
moulin rouge. actually don't think i thought that would be particularly good, but it was hideous.

i liked lost in translation and juno.

I don't really rate The Shining although I know I should.

The Aviator was deathly dull (think that won lots of awards too).

mrsruffallo · 28/06/2008 11:03

Agree with Moulin Rouge. What was all the fuss about? I couldn't sit through it.
Or Chicago.

Sidge · 28/06/2008 23:21

Bringing out the Dead with Nicholas Cage - it was so dull, I kept watching it thinking something will happen in a minute, then it ended without anything happening...

Also Premonition - turned it off in disgust after the husband's severed head rolled out of the coffin. Yeah right.

Also Matrix 3 - having loved the previous two was dying to see it, then at the end went "huh?"

meridian · 29/06/2008 08:13

the new first star wars-- freaking stupid except for the pod race which DS is enthralled with.

troy- i never thought it would end

revolver- just watched it last night and got to the end and just said "WTF"

the davinci code- wish tom hanks would go back to comedy.

anything with Leonardo decaprio- sorry but he just annoys me and I want to slap him for over acting.

batman and robin- everything.. just tripe

meet joe black- turned it off after an hour becuse nothing ever happened dull as dishwater.

m night shamalan movies- just a steaming pile of WTF.

almost everytime I watch an Oscar winning movie its almost always pants... sure there are many more.. its too early and not enough coffee.
