Anyone watched this? With Robert Pattinson and Zendaya.

What did you think?

Thinking about going to see it later today. Have you seen it? It has rave reviews.

Perfidia · 06/04/2026 13:00

Saw it yesterday.

I dunno, the performances were universally as good as they could be - Alana Haim outstanding - and it’s raised a bit of debate about the themes, but I felt a bit shoulder shrug-y about it all. It was mildly entertaining but I wasn’t moved at all.

No spoiler in the body of this review (though it provides a link to one):

The Drama’s big twist makes it the most uncomfortable film of 2026 – review

Robert Pattinson co-stars in a provocative, neurotic romcom that will make you feel exposed and challenged – and eager to talk about the movie’s shocking twist with absolutely everyone you meet

I agree, it is a real thinker so I’m glad I saw it but it won’t leave a super lasting impression.

A good 7/10.

I saw this earlier and spent most of it wondering why I hadn't walked out yet.

It wasn't funny, it wasn't clever and Robert Patterson's Temu-Hugh-Grant bumbling was so irritating it made me long for somebody to push him off something high.

I agree Alana Haim was fantastic, but she always is.

newbiebucky · 10/04/2026 08:11

i saw this yesterday and really enjoyed it. Interesting, funny and a bit different.

shortsaint · 10/04/2026 22:53

I liked it in that it was very uncomfortable viewing. Dark and satirical. That Independent review is spot on.

Might shock a few people going for the leads.

familyissues12345 · 11/04/2026 07:30

We watched it last night. Found the first 30 mins really dull, it did get going but overall found it a bit…odd?!

My friends were a bit like that but I kinda thought with Robert Pattinson it would be kinda arty!

I enjoyed it, butbits making me question myself.

I don't think what she did was that bad. I think what the friend did was way worse. I mean, it wasn't a good thing, but I think the characters actions afterwards made up for that, that she realised how awful the thing would have been and took action to change the future

SocksAndTheCity · 11/04/2026 15:51

'Uncomfortable, dark and satirical' was what I was hoping for when I bought the ticket.

What I got instead in it's haste to be Super Edgy!!!! was 'tedious, smug and far too pleased with itself'.

HildegardVonBingham · 11/04/2026 16:26

I thought it was really fun and silly, but DP thought dreadful. Love seeing Alana Haim’s acting career progress, thought she was excellent

ThatWaryLimePeer · 13/04/2026 22:48

I loved it, brilliant script.

grizzlyoldbear · 13/04/2026 22:57

I think the characters were fundamentally shallow and unlikeable, which was perhaps the point, it showed mob mentality and hypocrisy so left me feeling hollow but I thought it was quite 'clever' Yes Robert Pattinson's Hugh Grant character was the worst.

garlictwist · 15/04/2026 08:42

I saw this yesterday because I had a random day off and nothing to do. I didn't really know what to expect but enjoyed it a lot. I agree with a PP though, I don't think what she did was that bad as she didn't actually go through with it and devoted the rest of her school life to activism. The friend's bad deed was worse.

sakura06 · 16/04/2026 21:27

I found it mildly diverting. The performances were good. She was the only one of them who didn’t actually hurt someone else, so I was a bit baffled by that. Obviously very concerning, but no one was harmed.

Monolithique · 17/04/2026 20:28

I thought it was good. Thought provoking which was most likely the intention.

It was by the same director who did Dream Scenario, starring Nicolas Cage.

It's similar in that the characters have an awkward vibe, except with very good looking actors, not Nic Cage with very bad hair.
