Saw this today. Wasnt sure what to expect half expecting it to become a romance but far from that! Bonkers in some parts. Funny in others and it became harder to know who to root for! Enjoyable watch however

I really liked this and I'm very glad to see Sam Raimi put his cartoon horror hat back on for some popcorn fun 😀

Rachel McAdams has fantastic comic timing (and she looked to be enjoying striding around with her spear and her backpack - I hope she was), the CEO bloke with his office bros was so predictably loathsome I was looking forward to many unpleasant things happening to him and I wasn't disappointed. It definitely helped that everybody in the screen was enjoying it and laughing along.

It did get darker than I was expecting, but it is a Sam Raimi film after all! The poster reminded me of the old video nasty covers too, which was a plus ☺️

I enjoyed this mostly although it sagged a little bit in the middle.

lljkk · 09/02/2026 21:03

hmmm... sounds better than the adverts then. The adverts make out plot = "women turns tough and gets revenge on arsehole boss"
Which I found rather boring. It definitely didn't seem like would have comedy moments.

Wellwellwellwhatsallthisthen · 09/02/2026 21:14

Saw this today, so entertaining. Love Rachel McAdams in everything, she's fantastic.

IfyouStealMySunshine · 09/02/2026 23:23

Watched it tonight - liked it thought it was definitely original and liked the both the leads.

Watched tonight. Enjoyed it - darkly funny. Liked the finale in particular.

Needmorelego · 14/02/2026 22:14

I keep seeing the trailers for this.
Is it a comedy?
Or a horror?
I can't quite tell.
(The bits I've seen look funny but I hate horror films)

It's listed as a horror but it is more comedy/thriller. There is some blood though but it's not like a traditional horror film.

Thanks.
There's a real lack of films out at the moment but I fancy a cinema trip.
("Wuthering Heights" is apparently awful so I don't want to see it 😁)

I thought it was absolutely fantastic. Rachel McAdams is brilliant in it & her character is real kick ass! I had no idea where the story was going to go. It was a real rollercoaster ride with lots of blood!

Having just read the spoiler plot... it's not a movie for me, lol.
Those of you who liked Send Help, are you also Q. Tarantino fans?

Sturmundcalm · 16/02/2026 21:37

I saw it this evening. I'm a huge Rachel McAdams fan anyway but I loved it. I am not a horror fan though and I think there was one point where I actually squealed out loud 😂

I like Quentin Tarantino's films (although he's a monumental dick), but there's no link I can see between them and Sam Raimi or Send Help?

I've been a Sam Raimi fan since the early 1980's and his films are nothing like QT's, at least those I've seen. Some of the Marvel ones may have escaped me.

I liked Pulp Fiction, that's about all

This actually reminded me a little of Misery, which I also love

Me too. A few actually! We were in the brand new luxury Odeon cinema with reclining seats, loads of legroom & your own little table. A perfect experience all round 😊

I've only seen Natural Born Killers, back in the nineties! Like the other poster, I can't see any obvious connections between this film and Tarantino?

The Misery reference. Yes, I can see that but that was quite harrowing and brutal whereas I found Send Help mostly humorous.

lljkk · 18/02/2026 08:04

for me the link is violent revenge moments.

runwithme · 18/02/2026 08:12

I really liked it. It was a lot of fun, with a few twists. Like OP said, who do you root for?! Wouldn't compare it to QT movies. DH wasnt keen, he said the characters weren't likeable but it was part of the charm, I think.

In that case, no it's absolutely nothing like Kill Bill.
