Pretty dark but funny at the same time. I enjoyed this however I preferred Decision to Leave which was the director’s previous film.

I saw this at the London Film Festival and I'm looking forward to seeing it again - I really enjoyed it, although I agree about Decision To Leave. No Other Choice was still one of the funniest films I saw last year.

I was very surprised it didn't make it into Best International Film in the Oscar nominations; I thought it was nailed on.

Just home from seeing this. Really don’t know what to make of it!

I found it reasonably absorbing, and perhaps a little more complex or roundabout than headlines had suggested. Haven’t seen the director’s previous film so can’t compare. Well made, impeccable performances, enjoyable cinematography - not a terrible way to spend an afternoon.

@NorWouldTilly watch Mark Kermonde’s review on You Tube which might shed light on a few things.

Should that really be necessary?

(Thanks for the suggestion, though I haven’t looked yet. I do find You Tube a bit tedious.)

No but it does make for thinking about the film a little deeper I found.

I loved the ending. Loved the cinematography. Thought it was too long and could have been edited eg the son and the mobile phones didn't add much imo.

A great dark comedy! I agree @Arran2024that it was too long though. I love Son Ye-Jin who played the wife. The houses in it were all stunning. I’d like to know how/why they gave them all such incredible houses.
