Would boys age 5 like Disney's ENCHANTED?

It's ds' 5th birthday on the 22nd and he's invited six friends to the cinema. Nim's Island looks like it's ending (he quite fancied that one) and the Vue Family film that weekend is Enchanted (our nearest cinema).

Would boys age 5 like Enchanted? What's in it for them?

It's so frustrating cos the cinema said they won't know which films are showing until the Tues before his party.

hmm

its very very girly

oh really

there just doesn't seem to be an boy U/PG films on atm. The new Chronicles isn't on till the end of June and it'll be packed.

Don't know what to do - rearrange?? he'll be gutted. didn't think it'd be such a problem!

DS like it .. he is 4.5 though... it was girly.. DH wouldn't watch it with me, DS and my mother... my mother picked the movie and amazingly DS watch all of it.. the only other movies he has watched all of without walking away are "A Knights Tale" (watches it every week nearly) and "Explorers" I was so proud... now if only I could get him to watch "Goonies"

DS was 4 in March and was very bored by Enchanted

Enid · 12/06/2008 15:28

my dh loved it however?

Thanks.. I really don't know what to do. Guess I shouldn't worry until a week on tues once I know what is on. It's only £1.50 per head to see Enchanted so at the end of the day if they don't enjoy it it won't have been a huge waste of money, but at the same time I really want ds to enjoy himself.

The clip for Nim's Island looks good, but again the lead is a girl, so not sure if that'll be any better. The cinema indicated it may finish this weekend, but couldn't say what the replacement was. They are the only two U films atm.

I guess the backup plan would be a home cinema session? Could put on ds' favourite, darken the lounge etc? They could make their own popcorn. May run that past him to see what he thinks. The invites have gone out though about dropping off at the cinema etc, but there's only 6 others so shouldn't be too difficult to rearrange with the parents.

DS 12 loved it!

Some would, some wouldn't. There are safer choices for a boys 5th birthday party imo

LargeGlassofRed · 23/06/2008 23:05

ds 10 loved it too
