I watched this film this afternoon. It stars Michael Cain and Glenda Jackson. It came out 2 years ago and is based on a True story which I vaguely remember at the time. What a delightful film. It’s on BBC Iplayer if anyone wants to watch. A 90 year old care home resident gets himself to France for the 70th anniversary of D Day. I hadn’t heard of the film until today when it came up on my TikTok. I needed tissues but it is such a lovely, lovely film. Only 90 minutes long.

We watched this a little while back. It was very enjoyable although I didn't realize it was based on a true story at the time.

I saw it at the cinema so knew from the trailers it was based on a true story, it was absolutely lovely. It came out just after Glenda Jackson died.

Cried my eyes out watching this, wasn't expecting Michael Caine to look so old
