Is it just me or does anyone else think mark Darcy was an awful partner choice?
He looked down on her, insulted her and disregarded her feelings. He proposed and married other women very quickly but took a decade to ask Bridget and only because she’d had his baby.

He said that he liked her just as she was, so I disagree.

The whole point is that he's based on Mr Darcy in P&P who initially makes a total hash of his declaration of his feelings for Lizzie because of his own pride and prejudice leading him to insult her. He then undergoes a change (like Mark Darcy in Bridget Jones).

I agree, he was nicer than Hugh Grants character but still not great. The whole liking her just as she was speech seemed to have an under current of despite you being fat (not!) and chaotic I still like you.
